Grilled paneer is a delight for the vegetarian population. It's usually tasty, easy to cook, and also a kid's favorite. Grilled Sweet and sour paneer is so delicious and very easy to make.
There are various recipes in the grilling world with the use of paneer. But there are too many spices involved.

I like my barbecue dishes to be easy and quick prep.
My family loves Chinese food, and the fusion of Chinese with grilling was on my mind for long time.

So I decided to make this sweet and sour paneer and it was an instant hit at the barbecue party.
Grilled Sweet and Sour Paneer is a very simple recipe and can be done on a barbecue or a griddle/ tava.

Grilled Sweet and Sour Paneer
Equipment
- Grill / Barbecue / Griddle / Tava
- Skewers (optional)
- Gallon Zip lock bag / Bowl
- Spoon (optional)
- Measuring spoons
Ingredients
- 2 cups Paneer cubes 1 inch cubes
- 4 tablespoon Spring Onion finely chopped only greens
- 1.5 tablespoon Red Chili Sauce
- 1.5 teaspoon Lemon Juice
- 2 tablespoon Honey
- 4 Cloves Garlic Finely chopped or grated
- 2 tablespoon Coriander finely chopped
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Ingredients

- Take the paneer cubes in a zip lock bag and add all the remaining ingredients to it.

- Close the zip lock bag and shake and mix all the ingredients together to marinate the paneer properly.

- Refrigerate the marinated paneer for at least 30 mins. You can even refrigerate it overnight.
- Arrange the paneer on the skewers.

- Grill them over the barbecue till they are slightly brown. rotate them after couple of minute to avoid burning.
- If you are doing it over a griddle or tava, heat up the pan and brush it with oil. Place the marinated paneer over it and cook till brown from all sides.
- Dont throw away the remaining marinade or pour it over the paneer while cooking.

- Drizzle it on top of grilled paneer before serving, this gives paneer the perfect flavor.

Notes
- If you don't have honey you can replace it with regular sugar or brown sugar.
- Sugar also gives nice caramelization while grilling.
- Do not cut the paneer cubes too small or they will break while putting it on skewers.
- If you don't have zip lock bag use a bowl to marinate.
- If you like lemony flavor you can enhance it by adding a teaspoon of lemon zest to marinade.

Hi Eve, Paneer/cottage cheese is soft and delicious. But you can replace it with shrimps if you like. Even that tastes delicious.
