Made with simple ingredients like mayonnaise, relish, lemon juice, salt, parsley, or dill ready in just 2 minutes this is the best Homemade Tartar Sauce recipe just for you.

It goes just perfectly with crab cakes, french fries, fried fish, fish sticks, Tilapia patties, or even a fish burger and so much more.

You must have had this sauce at the restaurant with crab cakes or fish and chips and relished the sweet, tangy, creamy, and herb-filled tartar sauce.

    Ingredients for Homemade Tartar Sauce

    Ingredients
    Easy Homemade Tartar Sauce

Mayonnaise - Mayonnaise is the creamy base that is needed for the tartar sauce. I like to use regular mayonnaise but you can really use any good quality creamy mayonnaise.

Relish - I like to use relish in my tartar sauce as it gives a sweet and tangy flavor to the sauce and the tanginess does not overpower the palate.

Lemon Juice - Always use fresh lemon juice

Onion - Onion has a nice spicy flavor and it also provides a crunch to the tartar sauce.

Black pepper powder - I like my tartar sauce to have a hint of spice. It gives a spicy, woody, warm, and herby flavor to the homemade tartar sauce.

Parsley - Traditionally dill is used in the tartar sauce, however since I like the flavor of parsley so I always add parsley to my sauce. Dill has a strong smell that some people don't like so in that case you can use parsley. If you like dill then replace parsley with dill in this recipe.

    Salt - regular table salt.

Dijon Mustard - Dijon mustard is used in Homemade Tartar Sauce as it provides the kick to the sauce but doe not overpowers other flavors. You could always use the regular mustard sauce. This is an optional ingredient that I add if I am not adding onions. We don't need 2 sharp ingredients in one recipe.
